All club members are encouraged to wear their club T-shirt while participating in chess events.

6:30pm – 6:45pm Open Play:  :  Time for students to get warmed up for serious chess.  Winning players earn stars for their nametags.

6:45pm – 7:15pm Lessons:  Members will be divided up according to skill level. The levels are Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.  Each group will have its own location for instruction. The volunteer Instructors will tailor specific lessons to the skill level of each group. The children are also encouraged to practice what they learn at home.

7:15pm – 8:00pm Game Play:  An opportunity for the students to practice what they have learned in open play or in tournament practice sessions.  They will play one another and try to earn stars for their nametags.  Time limit for chess games will be roughly 30 minutes per side.  Clocks and notation should be used at this time.  Students who finish their practice games early have the option of playing on skittles tables or leaving.  Please be on time for pick up.

PLEASE HELP OUT:  We are a 100% volunteer-run organization and will be asking parents to help during meetings and club events.  If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at one of the club meetings or e-mail Cooper.Mtn.Chess.Club@gmail.com.
